Oh deer! Has it been a year since the birth of this blog?

I am hoping to transform the blog as a place to document my learning of digital marketing. Thanks to Ailin Stimson of spunk & serendipity and Crazy Cat Girl for their input and encouragement!

Seoul Days: Biking, Couples, and Picnics

Featuring this music video today because the scenes sums up all my favourite spots and ways to pass time in my favourite city, Seoul. Yeouido park!

If you’re in Seoul during the warmer weather, you’ll find an abundance of fashion-forward and trendy young couples (often with matching colour schemes or outfits) and friends on bikes, skateboards, or rollerblades hanging out in parks. And most of the time, one person has a DSLR in hand. Makes me question if DSLRs are cheaper in Seoul?

TIP: As a foreigner in Korea, you might want to check out The Sajin‘s post on camera shopping in Korea to prevent being ripped off. My own advice? Always, always bring a friend who speaks the local language for any type of shopping in foreign lands! (:

Can you spot the following locations in the music video? (:

A bridge that captured my attention and I stood here for a very long time. It looks like the bridge never ends!

Really missing Seoul these days! Upon graduation, must find my way back to either Seoul or Osaka!

Minty Mornings: Day Two

I think what’s important is having a consistent routine in the morning. It doesn’t have to be long, for me, it’s having a cup of lemon water and a good 15 to 20 minute stretch. Why is this so important? Often throughout the day, it’s really easy to lose control of what goes on in your surroundings. There are days that move too fast where you don’t have time to be attuned to your body. And what happens at the end of the day? You’re too tired. This is how build-up of tension happens, in your body and mind.

Time for the check-list!

Daily exercise of the day? Woke up and had to head downtown for dance practice, my energy levels were at an all-time low post-workout.

NTS: Pack a snack. Ideas for next time: bring a small lunch bag with a cooler to widen choices – wraps, sandwiches, fruits etc.

After dance, I kept my productivity momentum going and headed to the coffee shop to brainstorm for an essay. I was pretty proud of myself in bringing red pepper slices and choosing a chamomile tea instead of my usual sugary options. It’s a struggle when you’re working so hard and all you want is a treat. The real treat would be the satisfaction I got after typing up a 1k draft… 1.5k more to go.

Sadly, no images today because my phone is extremely wonky. Not what I envisioned for these daily posts but I hope to get some images up soon!

Love + Sincerity,

Morning Routines

I am kickstarting a new habit and will keep track of my progress on here. I was inspired by this article that highlights five ways to maximize morning productivity. The idea is what you do the first two hours of your day will set the course for the rest of the day, and eventually the tone on your entire life. So, here I am. I will be trying to modify the five tips to create a tailored morning routine for me! I want you to join me! (:

First, read the article.

Resources List (Continuous updates)

Decided to create a post to keep track of all the resources I use before a big trip.

This is a list of flight searchers I use:

sky scanner

Great for finding the cheapest flight out of your area in the next 90 days. Usually includes round trips fares.

Ask flight centre to beat online deals.

Good day

As I watch all the playful pups fully absorb in play fights, I feel a sense of bliss. Real, pure joy. It’s true that watching babies and pets play is therapeutic. We meet a new friend by the beach, Michael, who is skipping stones. We made several metaphors relating life to skipping stones without really meaning to. He shares his know-hows with us from flat stones, wrist flicks, and the proper stance. I watch him throw. Plop. Jump, leap and plunk. His go three steps forward. Mine plops near the shore.edit “It’s therapeutic.” He sighs into the clouded peek of sunlight.

And I think he’s right. You search for the right rocks, the tool for the task, with patience. The motion of the flick is harsh enough to help release tension. Then, you have the view or the grand picture, to remind you to be present. Keep on skipping through life, Michael.

What I didn’t know

What I didn’t know and am starting to accept is no matter how great of a detail-oriented planner you are, the story will always play out a different and unexpected result.Read More »
